The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), with 143,000 members in 147 countries, is the largest individual membership organization serving the upper echelon of the oil and gas industry, providing services to executives, engineers, scientists, and other professionals. SPE comprises 199 professional sections and 333 student chapters.

SPE International is represented in Turkey through the SPE Turkey Section, covering student chapters at Middle East Technical University, Istanbul Technical University, Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus, Batman University, and Iskenderun Technical University. SPE also allows student chapter members to download academic articles for free from www.onepetro.org.
The SPE ODTÜ Student Chapter, in which we are also a part, was established in 1992.
SPE Turkey serves as a technical and social network for professionals working in the petroleum industry in Turkey. With approximately 200 members engaged in a wide range of professional activities in the sector, SPE Turkey collaborates with industry, local governments, professional institutions, and universities to advance its members’ learning across all areas of the energy industry. It closely collaborates with institutions and organizations in offshore, onshore, and international domains to enhance members’ industry experience and assist them in reaching their full potential.
